In November of 1982, Kim Novak was a guest on the Johnny Carson Show. She was talking about her husband the vet and their llamas. So the next day I went to the Library looking for information on these llamas. There was nothing, NOTHING except a mimeograph page by the "Three L Llama" (which I still have all the copies of). That is where it all started. The bug had bit!
After visiting several llama farms we knew we needed to learn more. We went to
our first Llama Event at the Trails in Olympia, WA and that was it! WE HAD TO HAVE LLAMAS!
Our first llama was Silver Cloud, he was so cute at 2 weeks we knew he was ours. We purchased him and had to wait 6 months for him to be weaned and another 2 months for our fences to be complete. From that day in 1988 to now, we have grown to be owned by 60 llamas.
We believe that the most important goal in our breeding program is conformation. The greatest attribute to these lovely creatures is their packing ability. The joy of hiking with your llama is something nothing can compare! That is why it is so important to remember their strongest qualities while breeding - straight, strong, well proportioned back and legs!
Fiber is very important too! Because of the beauty and usefulness of their fiber, this is also very important to our breeding program. Thus we feel we have some of the best blending of the ORIGINAL South American with the NEW! We would love to have you come and visit and enjoy our llamas with us. Please call or e-mail if you have any questions or want directions.
